No, unless you are following a person who has just committed a crime that you witnessed and are guiding the police to their location. If you follow someone based on mere suspicion, you could be charged criminally with criminal harassment. Only licensed private investigators are permitted by law to conduct surveillance.

But be aware, the average police response time to a Priority 1 call (the most serious calls), was recently reported by Toronto Police Chief Demkiw as 18.1 minutes, an improvement over the previously reported average response time of 22 minutes. For property crimes, many people are told by police to report the incident online, or at the police station, and the police may not send a patrol car. The report is required to have an insurance claim, but if you want the matter properly investigated, consider calling us. We can also show you how to avoid becoming a victim in the first place, and how to install covert tracking devices so that your vehicle, or other valuable assets, can be recovered if they are stolen.
